I have found this same problem on other prayer sites. I think the one you are speaking of has changed tactics – I did not see that when I submitted a request. I got a pm sent to my mail box shortly after & another one the next morning stating that they were directly from this pastor. This is not usual. I started to respond but felt I should do some more checking. Once bitten twice shy. I could not find “what we believe” or my request. I thought the two options you could click on after reading prayer request ‘not worthy’ or ‘I will pray for thee’ were really weird. I searched his name & I found you.
It is great that you are not following the popular teaching today that we should not criticize at all other peoples ministries. With all things there is balance. Most of the bible would be erased if we took out the failures of leaders & Gods’ judgment on them. Paul & John wrote letters that were to be read to all churches naming false or fallen leaders. Following that teaching is like almost falling into a dangerous hole ,getting out with bruises, & not warning anyone else about it. We should not protect the guilty. It is out of context to use David spearing the life of Saul referring to him as Gods’ anointed & saying we are killing with our tongue. David discussed & rebuked Saul in front of everyone. These pastors are cowards who do not want any trouble from those who are loyal to these false ministers.

My husband and I are very active in our little grass-roots church. He leads praise and also runs the website, I work with the youth group, and we both participate in an evening of prayer each week. We bring all of our trials and praises before the Lord, and naturally thought that it would be a wonderful outreach (and it still is a great blessing to other and ourselves) to extend prayer to anyone who came upon the site. One day a few weeks ago, we get an upset phone call from our pastor saying that he’s received an irate email from another pastor about how unethical it is for Sound Christian Fellowship’s website to have the nerve to ask for money for prayer. What?! Our pastor was wondering if there was a glitch or a virus that could be doing this. Well, my husband does some sleuthing and finds out about the John Carlson mentioned in the article above – who does not have anything to do with our Pastor John Carlson, who would never ever EVER charge anyone for the gift of prayer. At least we got to explain what had happened, but it still seems surreal.

Counterfeits abound. God will deal with them. Praise God.
