Chaos – A Dream from God

This details a dream I had about Christ, church, and chaos.

In the dream, I was in a large church and I was excited to be there because I expected to meet a good, old friend of mine who did not yet know Christ. I had been expecting him to come to church, but as it turned out, he was not there. That was my motivation at first for going to this particular church, but once I got there, I focused simply on the moment instead and found myself sitting in the congregation.

Next to me were current friends who had been freed from a false, religious worship of God–people who had gotten caught up in dead religion and who had later been freed from it. I was expecting them to now be teaching others to be free also, but they were still waiting to be fed and led by others and were slowly forgetting the message they had learned and were beginning to fall asleep in the church. The good news though was that once freed by God from the religious way of doing church, it was impossible to really go back to it, although the challenge was how these people would fill their lives after that point; whether they would simply fall back “asleep” in church or whether they would teach others what they had learned.

During the time that these people were a part of the religious system, they were in fact preaching the wrong message and were actually turning people away from God. I realized that my old friend who I was hoping to see in church had not shown up in church, because he too had heard the wrong message and there was nothing appealing about what he had heard. He had no reason to accept it, because what had been portrayed to him by Christians was not in fact from God.

There were actually many people throughout the world who did not understand the Gospel, and so were not accepting Christ’s message. If the right Gospel had been preached to them, many more people would accept it. But because the people preaching it were preaching a tame misconception of the Gospel that was at best boring, many were rejecting it because they did not recognize it as the truth.

Next, the pastor had come out to preach to the congregation and although a man of God who had a powerful and seemingly correct message, I could see that another power was at work behind him–and the power behind this man was a darker power, which is best described in this dream as chaos. This chaos looked like an enormously tall, black tornado that swept through the church and throughout the earth, destroying and twisting everything in its reach.

Behind this tornadoe of chaos, I had a vision of the devil. The devil actually had little power of his own, and was not actually the one creating the evil or the choas that is around us. Instead, all the chaos and evil was a natural extension of fallen people and a fallen world, and Satan was simply embodying this chaos, like putting on a suit. Imagine wrapping up all the evil and chaos that is in the world into one single mass–and having Satan embody that mass. The chaos was actually Satan – it was like they were one–the way that Christ was one with God while on this earth. They were inseparable.

This choas would then try to kill Christ wherever it could find Him. So it wasn’t a matter of “Satan did it” or Satan did evil things in the world, but that as a result of chaos that is already in existence in the world, Satan would embody it and focus it together into one being, which was Satan himself. This is what gave him his power.

And the place that Satan seemed to be very prevalent was in the churches themselves, because much false and religious teachings exist in the churches and pastors from which chaos drew his power.
